Posted Date: 09/02/26 (09:30 AM)
Dear DMS Families,
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and we are excited to announce that St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is once again our Fall Charity of Choice! Throughout the month, our students will participate in the St. Jude Math-a-thon, combining math practice with an opportunity to make a difference for children and families facing childhood cancer.
β€οΈ What is the St. Jude Math-a-thon?
The St. Jude Math-a-thon is a fun educational program that allows students to strengthen their math skills while raising funds to support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude. Every donation helps ensure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food, allowing them to focus on what matters mostβhelping their child heal.
π» Register & Fundraise Online
We encourage every family to register online and create a fundraising page for their student. It's quick, easy, and allows friends and family to donate securely from anywhere.
Register here:

π Sponsorship Forms
Sponsorship forms will be sent home with students this week. Families may use these forms to collect donations from relatives, neighbors, friends, and local businesses. Please return completed forms and any collected donations to the school by the announced deadline.

π± Share the St. Jude Bingo Card
Also attached is a St. Jude Bingo Card! We encourage your family to share it on social media to help spread awareness and invite friends and family to support your student's fundraising efforts. Every share and every donation helps us move one step closer to making a difference in the lives of St. Jude patients.
π Student Incentives
We have several exciting incentives to encourage participation throughout the month!
π Grade Level Challenge: The grade level that raises the most money will earn 200 points toward our DMS Grade Level Competition Board.
π Yearbook Drawing: For every $25 raised, students will receive one entry into a drawing for a FREE DMS yearbook. Every additional $25 raised earns another entry!
π Homeroom Challenge: The homeroom that raises the most money will win a pizza party.

Fundraiser Deadline
Our St. Jude Math-a-thon fundraiser will run through September 30. Please help your student collect and submit all donations by Wednesday, September 30. Whether donations are made online or collected using the sponsorship form, we ask that all funds be turned in by this date so we can celebrate our fundraising success and recognize our top fundraisers.
Thank you for partnering with us as we teach our students the importance of compassion, generosity, and serving others. Whether your family is able to donate, share the fundraiser, or simply encourage your child to participate, every effort makes a difference.
Together, we can help bring hope to the children and families served by St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. We are grateful for your support and look forward to making this year's Math-a-thon our most successful yet!
